The lithium battery should provide enough power for up to 3 years of remote controller use. It all depends on how much remote controller has been used. Follow these steps to replace the battery when the time comes:

First – Use the visor clip or screwdriver to pry open the cover.
Second – Remove the old battery, and insert a new one. Replace the battery with only the 3V CR2032 coin cell battery model.
Last – Replace (reinstall) the cover.
