Another possible reason for red light is an electrical failure. In that case, you need to replace the whole PUR filter faucet.
After changing the filter, before using it for the first time ONLY, run cold water for five minutes. After that, your filter is ready for use whenever you turn on your faucet.
A reset button is placed inside the chamber on the side wards where the water exits. Open the chamber and you’ll notice a ½-inch-long button. It requires an easy push to pop out and reset lights. (Only applies for some PUR water filter models)

The first thing is to remove your original aerator and its washer. Use a rubber jar opener if the aerator is difficult to remove.
Identify your faucet threading – either external or internal.

Push the reset button in for 3 seconds until all 3 lights flash, then release.
